Volunteer Spotlight

Volunteer: Evan Charlebois
Veteran Advocate | Community Leader
Evan Charlebois is a proud United States Air Force veteran who served six years of active duty from 2007 to 2013. Rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5) in just four years, Evan distinguished himself through exceptional leadership, resilience, and commitment to service.
After graduating high school with high honors and earning a HOBY Leadership endorsement, Evan chose to enlist in active duty military service rather than pursue opportunities at Clarkson University or the United States Military Academy at West Point. His decision was driven by a deep desire to serve immediately and make a tangible impact.
Throughout his military career, Evan completed three deployments and 27 temporary duty assignments across multiple countries. His service earned him numerous honors, including multiple selections as 621st CRW Airman of the Quarter, Air Mobility Command Sergeant of the Year, a Below-the-Zone promotion, and several commendation and achievement medals. He is also a recipient of the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and campaign medals for Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn.
In 2010, Evan sustained a severe spinal injury that led to multiple surgeries and ultimately concluded his military service. This life-altering challenge became a turning point—redirecting his mission toward advocacy, service, and community impact.
Today, Evan is deeply committed to supporting and empowering the veteran community. Since joining ASAS in May 2023, he has expanded his efforts to serve fellow veterans through outreach, mentorship, and mission-driven initiatives. His passion is rooted in both lived experience and a continued call to serve those who have sacrificed for their country.
Evan holds an Associate’s Degree in Logistics & Resources from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from American Military University. He is also a lifetime member of American Legion Post 939.
Guided by the core values instilled during his military service—Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do—Evan continues to lead with purpose, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others.
